Following my collaboration on the Cover Story series, Rolling Stone Italia brought me on board for a new project created in partnership with Alfredo Magazine: Staff Meal.
This video format explores the intimate and often overlooked moment of shared staff meals inside the kitchens of renowned Italian restaurants—offering an uncommon look behind the scenes.
I was tasked with directing the episode set inside Carlo Cracco’s restaurant, located in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The featured staff meal was the preparation of pizza—a beloved and deeply personal dish for the kitchen team.
Working alongside photographer Marco P. Valli—whom I had already collaborated with on the Cover Story for the band Verdena—I crafted a video designed to reveal a world everyone knows exists but few ever get to witness up close.
In this story, the sounds of the kitchen, blended with an original soundtrack by Zebra Sound, play a central role—amplifying the tactile sensations of the scene, capturing its textures and flavors.
The vibrant colors of the ingredients, combined with the acoustic details, create an immersive and authentic audiovisual experience—placing the viewer in the heart of the kitchen, in an atmosphere that feels both intimate and unexpected.
